I started working on the Bumbles costume about a week before we took the
pictures. The legs have Velcro tabs on them. Originally, there were
ear slots for Riley. The other "small"
problem we ran into was when Riley got stressed in the costume, Jade clamped
onto him like a crazy border collie trying to take down a sheep. No one
was going to win that fight.
|
There would have been no need for such an outrageous costume if we had
borrowed John and Lyn's komondor Compy.
|
This was taken the day before the snow. A Veluxe blanket serves as a
backdrop. The dogs are actually sitting on a wagon. |
No doubt what Nigel is telling the dogs!
|
Once again, Riley was meant to play Bumbles and Dallas was meant to be Yukon
Cornelius.
|
It's as if Riley is laughing at Jabba's plight. The drawback of the
Bumbles outfit is that you cannot see Dallas's expressions. One can only
assume he's not a happy camper in there.
|
|

Riley is far happier being Yukon, even if his (and Jade's) eyes are
covered. We struggled more this year than others with wardrobe
malfunction.

Jabba and Jade commiserate.

Jabba says "I dare you to make me stay!"

Nigel adjusting Jabba's hat. |
If looks could kill, the photographer would not be here to blog about the
photo session.
|
Riley can't help but laugh at Jabba's misfortune of being shoved in the box
AGAIN. Jade tries very hard to look out just one eye.
|

Jabba wasn't upset the entire time. It's
just that his union doesn't support anything beyond 5-6 minutes of actual
labor per hour.
|
Stuffing Jabba's hat reminded us of the Grinch.
|

Once Jabba took off, it took us about 10 minutes to catch him again. He
wore his hat runnng around the yard, up the tree, and on the roof.
|

Look who's out of here now......... |
Dallas is squished out. Jabba is watching some birds in the
holly tree not 20' away.
|
We experimented with different shirts wanting Yukon to have that Paul Bunyan
look. In the end, we used the Puget Hounds team T-Shirts because the color
had more pop.
|
By the time we got to this shot, everyone was exhausted. Not even the
cat wanted to fight any more.
|
We lost count of the number of times Nigel put "Charlie" back in the box |
